Rad Blu-Ray To Be Released In May
Rad will finally be released on Blu-Ray, according to movieweb.com.
It will be a 4K UHD/Blu-Ray dual release. The picture is from a restored version of the original negative. It will have a new 5.1 audio mix. The disc will include bonus features such as interviews, commentary, "and more". If the "and more" doesn't contain deleted scenes I'm going over to Hell Track and ripping that mother down. The discs start shipping after May 22-25.
But hold on! It's not all sunshine and rainbows. The makers of the blu-ray state "We will not be repressing this release in any format once it sells out." Is that just marketing? Is that a real problem? Should we horde copies of Rad like toilet paper? I'm not sure.

Late Night - Jean Shepherd
You'll (hopefully) know Jean Shepherd as the writer and narrator of "A Christmas Story".
For those of you interested in bad/rip-off films, there is a "sequel" to "A Christmas Story" titled "A Christmas Story 2" made in 2012. I haven't seen that movie, but will and just assume from what I've seen that it's terrible. But there is a more authentic "sequel", "My Summer Story" aka "It Runs in the Family" from 1994. Like "A Christmas Story" it's directed by Bob Clark and based on the Shepherd's novels with Shepherd doing narration. I believe I've seen that movie and found it a disappointment but I'm going to watch it again to confirm.

Conan Podcast - David Letterman
I don't know why I'm so late on this but for some reason I waited until now... Last October, Conan had David Letterman as a guest on his podcast. It's a pretty good interview. Letterman says, looking back at it now, he should have retired earlier. And the two swap Bob Hope stories. No matter what, the thing you can't miss is a cereal story at the end (1:12:09).

Angry Video Game Nerd - Bob Ross
Who would have thought that the guy who makes his living yelling and cursing was greatly influenced by Bob Ross? This isn't a comedy piece, but rather a reflection on Bob Ross' work and television show.
You might not enjoy it but I really enjoyed it.
