Happy Independence Day. This is an excellent video illustrating the Battle of Gettysburg.
One of the things that can frustrate me about war documentaries is how they can talk about "flanks", "attacks", "counter-attacks" and so forth and I have no mental picture of what's going on physically. This video is great for explaining the battle by showing the map with all the pieces on it in addition to showing how they move throughout.
One of the things I'd really like to learn more about some day is military strategy. It's such a huge blind spot in my historical knowledge. When a General "needs to take" a certain ridge, I want to know why they need to take that ridge. Or a certain city is a huge strategic target, what about the city makes it valuable, etc? I recognize and am fascinated by the fact that there's a game of chess being played at the highest level but it's as if I don't know the rules of chess.

Best of the Worst - Black Spine #3
This is incredible.
There are parts of this that I would call "NSFW", by the way. But that's just what happens when you watch random, unmarked VHS tapes.

Why Are 96,000,000 Black Balls on This Reservoir?
Found this to be interesting and it's a problem that I didn't even know existed.

Late Night - Dudez A-Plenti
This is big. This is big.
If I had access to Conan's upload schedule beforehand, I would have scheduled a vacation day today to lie in bed with Ritz crackers. That's because today is (apparently) the day where Conan's greatest comedy bit of all-time is uploaded to youtube. And not only is it his best bit, it's constantly been notoriously hard to find anywhere due to copyright strikes and an "alternate" version that's edited down.
Perhaps someday they'll upload the follow-up to "Making the Band": "Making the Video". For now, you can see that here.
