On the Authorship of Shakespeare's Plays

When the subject of "who wrote Shakespeare's plays" comes up, this video is a fair representation of what you're told about the controversy.

The controversy is waved off as merely down to intellectual snobbery - an uneducated man couldn't be the greatest writer of all-time. And just in case you don't find that retort satisfying, well remember that the people who are quick to dismiss any conspiracy theories will also tell you it also doesn't really matter. Well why'd you bring it up at all?

But it isn't intellectual snobbery to think that a man living in the late 1500's, with little or no education, and who owned no books, could have "a profound knowledge of English, Latin, Greek and Italian as well as a deep and wide knowledge of history, mythology and multiple subjects like jurisprudence, military matters, foreign geography, seamanship amongst much else."

In fact, the official story sounds pretty ridiculous, when you really look at it.

Princess Diana

 Here's a photo of the car Princess Diana was in during her fatal car crash.

You can see the license plate (688LTV55) and that, while the front of the car might be in bad shape, the back and top are pristine. Here is another.

Now the back window is gone and the top of the car is completely damaged and separated from the back. You can see these photos in the context of 'News' here.

Well maybe ambulance workers had to break the back window and cut the car to gain access.

That's a bit weird, innit?

JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass

 

Over the years I've flip-flopped quite a lot in my opinion of Oliver Stone's "JFK." To be more precise I always felt it was a fascinating film, extremely well constructed and haunting, but what I kept questioning was whether it told a true story.

In 2021, with the help of further research and unclassified documents, Stone returned to the same subject to re-assess his previous movie. The new information adds a great deal of clarity, as does the documentary, rather than feature film, format.

It's hard to believe I had not heard of this movie's existence until recently - "JFK" was a box-office and cultural phenomenon. Whether it is a function of Oliver Stone's decline in relevance, a decline in interest in documentaries, my own ignorance or something else, I cannot say. But upon hearing about it, I knew I was interested.

Not wishing to be political in any way, but it is worth noting that President Trump has promised to open up the JFK files when he takes office. That should be very interesting indeed and perhaps another movie will be called for.

I've heard of many aspects of this "conspiracy" for years but never got the whole story. It's not really a conspiracy at all (by the informal definition) since it's all done in plain sight.

I don't appreciate this guy's whole "slacker attitude," but the information is what counts.

The Book Tied to 75,000 Disappearances

I am not usually a fan of this kind of paranoid, creepy documentary video, but this channel (Barely Sociable) is so consistent in quality and interesting topics, I keep coming back. See if this isn't a fascinating production.

On a nitpicking note, he could really benefit from an editor (in the literary sense) or at least a proof-reader. The number of grammatical mistakes, spelling mistakes or just awkwardly constructed sentences really distracts from the otherwise top-notch content.
