Late Night Etc.

Late Show
Tonight's Late Show saw the return of Madonna which is always an event after the infamous interview from the early 90s (... fine here's a link for people who were living under a rock in the 90s and are immune to all manner of odd and offensive conversation). As always, the interview was charged with tension and there was way too much nervous laughter and applause from the audience. The interview ended, of course, with Dave and Madonna leaving the studio during the show and going to an Italian restaurant for pizza.... obviously.
Late Night
Only 4 days until The Christopher Cross & The Roots Yacht Rock Party. It's so exciting my eyes are shooting fireballs.
Awesome Roots Choice #7: If you have Amy Brenneman on your show and she's promoting the show "Private Practice", what music do you choose to introduce her with? Wrong. Instead of that rather offensive - and I have to say - slightly gay choice, they played a musical remix/mashup of Allen Iverson's "Practice" speech (private... practice!), proving once again that they're geniuses (or "genii").
And the Phillies are in the playoffs.

Demolition

On September 29th, the Eagles signed linebacker Jeremiah Trotter for the third time.

[Pictured: Jeremiah Trotter. Upon taking this DMV photo, the photographer was thrown back for a loss.]

Now 32 years old, has he lost a step? Is this a brilliant move that strengthens an already stellar defense? Will he only be used as a 12th weapon/decoy for an alternate Wildcat offensive "look"? I don't know. The Eagles, famously, don't bother to sign old players who can't perform regardless of whether they've been around forever, are loved by the fans or are Philadelphia legends. So, it's probably an improvement. The real point though, is that I don't care. It's great just to have someone on the team who's a recognizable face. The Eagles change faces so often, they should be called the Philadelphia Joan Rivers'es'es (An actual expansion team coming in 2012 which will vanquish its opponents by repeated references to menopause).

Who Cares Wins

[Original Video Broken. I believe it was the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon doing an "educational video"]

Mark Your Calendars.

This upcoming Monday, the following will happen on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon: a Yacht Rock Party with Christopher Cross and The Roots.

Let's take this one at a time. Monday Christopher Cross will be on Late Night and will perform the classic "Ride Like the Wind". Not only that, he will be backed by The Roots. They are also trying to get Michael McDonald involved. In addition, it will be a Yacht Rock party. This is (apparently) a party where everyone wears a captain's hat and drinks champagne as if they were the captain of a yacht.

It's so logical, there's no way this can fail!
